A MAN has been charged after police discovered drugs and a bladed weapon following a foot chase.
Officers with Essex Police arrested a man in Braintree on Wednesday, January 20 after he attempted to flee.
Officers approached a parked car before the occupant began to run.
He was quickly caught by police who discovered the man was in possession of a Class B drug and a bladed weapon.
He was subsequently arrested and later charged.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "Last night in Braintree officers on the late shift spotted a parked up vehicle and when they got close the occupant tried to run away.
"Should have worn his running shoes. One male arrested for possession with intent to supply a class B drug and possession of a bladed article.
"This male has since been charged and remanded."
