HUMAN remains have been found on a beach.

The bones were found at West Wittering by a shocked member of the public on Monday.

Police recovered the bones from the coast near Chichester and confirmed they were human.

An investigation is now underway to identify the skeletal remains.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “Specialist forensic teams recovered the bones and have confirmed the remains are human.

“The discovery is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries to identify the bones are ongoing.
