A 37-YEAR-OLD man has died after a serious car crash this morning.

He was driving a silver Ford Focus along the A264 Five Oaks Road near Slinfold at about 8.20am when he was involved in a collision with a black Mitsubishi L200.

The driver of the Ford, a man from Horsham, was pronounced dead at the scene, Sussex Police confirmed this afternoon.

"Next of kin have been informed," a force spokeswoman said.

"The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 39-year-old man, suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment.

"There is no further information at this stage."

The road has been closed for eight hours as emergency services remain on the scene to carry out investigation work into the incident.

Sussex Police are now appealing for information as they look to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision.

A force spokeswoman said: "We're appealing for any witnesses of the collision or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward and report this information by emailing collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting Operation Poet."
