TRAINS are currently unable to run between Horsham and Epsom due to heavy flooding on the railway line.

Southern Rail have warned passengers that disruption is expected to continue until 11am.

A spokesman for the rail company said: "Flooding in the Epsom area means that trains are currently unable to run between Epsom and Ashtead/Horsham.

"Services that run between Victoria and Dorking / Horsham, will do so between Victoria and Epsom only.

"Southern are looking at also running some services between Horsham and Dorking, and will advise soon on these.

"Network Rail teams are en route, and we will have a better understanding of the situation soon."

Update at 10.19am

A Southern Rail spokesman said: "All lines have now reopened between Horsham and Epsom.

"A speed restriction remains in place in the Ashtead area, so additional delays are possible, as well as alterations and cancellations.

"Please check before you travel, you may also wish to allow extra time."
