HERE in Sussex, we are hugely lucky to have a seemingly infinite supply of natural beauty on our doorstep.

From the starling murmurations regularly seen flitting above Brighton Palace Pier against stunning sunsets to the rolling hills of the South Downs, the county has plenty to give.

However, with current lockdown restrictions limiting trips recreational trips outdoors to one-per-day, and people not allowed to travel outside of their local area for exercise, many have found themselves tantalisingly out of reach of their favourite spots in Sussex.

So, we asked Argus readers to share their best-loved views from areas near them.

This way, until we can once again traverse the many trails, beaches, towns and more our beautiful county has to offer, we can at least enjoy a glimpse of some of the astounding sights on offer.

There were several shots of colourful skies covering Brighton and Hove seafront.

Matt Lomer managed to capture the reflection of the Palace Pier in a shallow pool on a rare patch of sand.

Several other seafronts featured among the many submissions we received, with Rose Jones’ shot of Shoreham at sunrise and Liz Winn’s picture of Kingston beach among our favourites.

Rob Carron, meanwhile, cast his eye (and camera) slightly further from the shore.

His photograph captured the Rampion windfarm off Brighton, with the wind turbines emerging from an almost ghostly mist.

Jonathan F Vernon shared several shots from his walk around the picturesque town of Lewes, which had been hit by frost overnight.

Janet Farr cast her camera over the luscious green hills leading to Poynings, Beth Jane shared a memory from her trip to the imposing Pevensey Castle and Chantal Taylor chose the view over the Seven Sisters cliffs as a favourite in Sussex.

The Belle Tout lighthouse can just be made out in the background of the amazing snap.
