A FORMER Miss Brighton has had a Covid vaccine and is urging others to do the same.

The Conservative councillor for Patcham won Miss Brighton twice, along with 47 regional and national beauty pageants in her teens and early 20s.

As an Evening Argus girl in the late 1960s, Carol Ann Bull, as she was then known, became a well-known face to our readers.

She has fond memories of promoting raffles, attending fetes and charity events and delivering prizes to Lost Ball competition winners.

She married her husband Geoffrey Theobald in 1973, later serving as his mayoress.

Mrs Theobald was crowned Mayor if Brighton in 2007, switching her beauty queen's sash for chains of office.

The mother of four was the third Theobald to hold the office in Brighton.

Carol Theobald received the first dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech jab at Brighton Racecourse on Thursday.

The former model, who also took her 97-year-old mother with her, said she was "very impressed" with the service at the race ground.

She told The Argus: "I was very impressed with the service at the Race Ground.

"I took my mother who will be 98 this year and it was all

so efficient and quick.

"There was plenty of car parking available and there was no queuing, with very polite helpers.

"I am very thankful to the doctors and nurses and all the volunteers.

"I would encourage residents of the city to have the vaccination."
