DRONE shots taken above Worthing show the seaside town hit by snow, as the South East feels the full freeze of Storm Darcy.

Stunning pictures snapped high above the town show hundreds of rooftops covered in snow from a light dusting overnight.

The once golden pebbled beach is now a shade of white, as passerby's walk along the icy seafront footpath.

It comes as thousands of residents awoke to the white stuff across Sussex this morning.

The cold weather is set to continue with a Met Office weather warning for snow in place across Sussex until Wednesday.

Storm Darcy is the result of strong easterly winds from Ukraine and the Black Sea.

It has has been heralded as the "Beast from the East 2" as weather warnings sweep the nation.

A Met Office spokesman said: "Frequent snow showers may lead to travel disruption in places.

"Some places are likely to miss the showers altogether."

In Brighton, "light snow" is expected until noon, when it will be replaced by "heavy snow" for an hour.

Then from 1pm to 6pm there will be further "light snow".

Permission was obtained before flying the drone.
