POLICE have urged drivers to "stay at home unless necessary" after a flurry of crashes on snow covered roads in Sussex.

Officers are currently closing several smaller roads after two collisions near Frant, north east of Crowborough, this morning.

In a statement issued via social media, a spokesman for the Sussex Police Rural Crime Team said: "We are assisting Wealden Police and Sussex Roads Police in closing roads after two road traffic collisions near Frant this morning, likely caused by the weather conditions.

"Main roads may be clear but the lesser lanes are still treacherous. Please take care and stay at home unless necessary."

This follows three crashes at the same junction (below) near West Hoathly at about 3pm yesterday.
