Brighton is famous for being the home of one of Britain's biggest YouTubers, Zoella - but did you know all of these stars also live in the city?

From beauty and fashion bloggers to gamers and commentators, Brighton has more than its fair share of Youtube stars racking up millions of international views.

How do you make money on YouTube?

Since the birth of the platform, users have been able to make money for the content they upload

Now some stars have even gone on to make multi-millions and sit on the Forbes rich list.

From brand deals to releasing their own merchandise and getting paid through affiliate links - there are plenty of ways for YouTubers to make money.

The first way to get paid for content is through ads that pop up before, during and after you watch a video. The more views a video gets the more they will be paid in advertising.

They can also get paid through something called Patreon which is the equivalent of an online tip jar - viewers can give money to their favourite content creators.

Every person that uploads a video to YouTube has their own 'channel', like a TV channel.

People can then watch the videos on the site and even subscribe to their favourite channels.

It's simple maths - the more viewers and subscribers you have, the more you are going to get paid.

But it's not all about money, the most successful YouTubers genuinely love what they do and most start off on the site as novices before reaching stardom.

Here are Brighton's biggest YouTube stars:
