THIS week, we were treated to a dusting of snow across Brighton and Hove as the white stuff finally fell in the city.

But, while other parts of Sussex enjoyed enough snowfall for a spot of sledging, the scattering of snow in Brighton was short-lived.

So, this begs the question, have we seen the last of the snow in Brighton and Hove?

A Met Office weather warning for snow and ice was issued across Sussex, and the rest of the South East, between midnight and 11am today.

The weather service warned of bitterly cold conditions with "icy patches and snow showers" in the affected area.

However, no snow was forecast to fall in Brighton.

And, with the warning drawing to an end, the Met Office forecast for the next week does not anticipate there will be any more of the white stuff in the city.

Temperatures are set to stay between -2C and 3C until Sunday morning, when they are expected to rise to 9C by noon.

In a forecast for the UK, a Met Office spokesman said: "At the end of the week, milder air from the Atlantic starts to spread into the UK behind a series of weather fronts.

"These may stall where the milder air meets the cold air mass and we could see wintry hazards, such as rain, sleet, and snow, with freezing rain also a possibility at times.

"As always, snow is more likely over higher ground, but there could be some to lower levels."

But this snowfall is not expected to be seen in Brighton.
