Tracy Beaker is back on our screens tonight 20 years after it first aired.

Sussex author Jacqueline Wilson's 1991 book The Story of Tracy Beaker was adapted into the hit CBBC kids show in the early noughties.

Fans of the show will remember it was set in 'The Dumping Ground' and Beaker suffered from bouts of 'hayfever' whilst coming to terms with life in care.

The mischievous  bunch of kids played a number of rule-breaking stunts and pranks on the care workers including Elaine The Pain.

Now, Dani Harmer is back playing the role of Tracy Beaker but this time she's all grown-up and has an 11-year-old daughter of her own.

The new series My Mum Tracy Beaker is based on Jacqueline Wilson's 2018 book of the same name.

The series follows Tracy and Jess as they try to scrape by financially, but with a close and loving bond that Tracy missed out on with her own mum.

It premieres tonight at 5pm on CBBC and BBC iPlayer.
