A MAN was attacked inside his home after two masked burglars broke in wielding a metal pole and a knife.
The incident happened at a house in Southfields Road, Littlehampton, on Thursday evening, and police were called to the scene shortly after 7.30pm.
Two men are reported to have entered the property and assaulted a man, who had to be taken to hospital for injuries to his head and foot.
Other members of the house were threatened by the men, who were carrying a metal pole and a knife.
The burglar carrying the pole was white, over 6ft tall, of a skinny build and wearing a dark hoody.
The second man with the knife was also white, about 5ft10in tall, with fair, curly hair. Both men were wearing snoods.
The attackers left the area in a Volkswagen Passat car.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and the motivation for the incident is currently unknown.
