TEMPERATURES all over Sussex for the last week or so have been sub-zero.

It was reported (The Argus, February 13) that thousands of residents living in certain postcode areas of the county could apply for a special £27 cold weather payment.

Many thousands more living outside those postcodes, to prevent freezing their bed socks off, also had to keep their central heating on the boil.

So can anyone explain why only some qualify when "all" of Sussex suffered same sub-zero temperatures?

Every picture tells a story. It's the old chestnut - postcode lottery.
