MOTHERS to be will now be able to be accompanied during their scans, two hospitals have announced.
Conquest Hospital in St Leonards and Eastbourne District General Hospital announced the changes to the rules this afternoon, meaning that women will now be able to be accompanied by one adult at all ultrasound scans.
However, children are still not able to attend scans.
Visitors will be expected to wear a face mask, sanitise their hands and maintain social distancing.
The changes will come into effect on Monday, February 22nd.
A spokesman from Conquest Maternity said: “This change is due to the reduction in Covid-19 cases in our communities and within our hospitals.
“The decision may need to be reviewed in future if case numbers increase.”
