Police shut down a property after residents living nearby reported repeated lockdown flouting, drug use and antisocial behaviour.
Officers issued a partial closure order on the property in Orchard Street, Chichester, banning all visitors to the address.
Sergeant Daniel West from the Chichester neighbourhood policing team said closure orders are "the final option" when dealing with relentless antisocial behaviour at a specific address.
The Chichester property, Sussex Police say, has been repeatedly highlighted by others living in the area as they raised concerns over "drug use, high volumes of antisocial behaviour and breaches of Covid-19 guidelines".
After failed attempts to engage with the man living there, police took action and issued the partial closure order.
The order will initially last for three months and stipulates that the man living at the property "is the only permitted resident and there are to be no visitors to the property".
This does not include medical staff, carers or people from recognised agencies.
Sergeant West said: "Closure orders are the final option when dealing with antisocial behaviour at a particular address.
"Unfortunately, our efforts to engage with the resident did not prove successful and we hope that the order will bring some relief to neighbouring residents.
"We take all reports of antisocial behaviour seriously and work with partner agencies to find solutions which improve the situation for all parties involved."
