CCTV images of two masked men have been released by police investigating the theft of a purse from a car.

Banks cards which were kept in the purse were later used at the Esso Petrol Station on the A27 Chichester bypass, near the Stockbridge Roundabout, where the two men were caught on camera.

The purse was stolen from a car in Lawleys View, Emsworth, in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

It is thought to have been taken between 1am and 4.15am, with the bank cards being used at the Esso Petrol Station near Chichester at 4.32am.

Sussex Police are now working to identify the two men in the CCTV images. Further footage captured in the area shows the pair travelling on bicycles.

A force spokesman said: "If you recognise the males or have any information relating to the thefts, please contact police by reporting online or by calling 101 quoting serial 968 of 17/02.
