PEOPLE across Sussex woke to a glorious “Saharan” sunrise.
The golden orange glow was caused by Saharan dust in the atmosphere – and Argus Camera Club members were quick to capture it.
David Ashdown took this atmospheric shot over Southwick beach but the scene was equally dramatic across the county.
The country is experiencing spectacular sunrises and sunsets after air coming from the South West was drawn up from the Sahara Desert.
People have noticed dust and sand particles whipped up from the Sahara deposited on their cars and windows.

It comes as temperatures rose over the weekend to a balmy 60.9F (15.9C) on Sunday, a welcome relief from the recent big freeze.
