MOTORISTS have been named in our courts for a variety of offences.

Here is a round-up of defendants caught committing offences on our roads.

The motoring court lists are published by The Argus in the public interest. While some offences may seem minor, there is the potential for far greater harm to be caused.

For example, driving without valid insurance threatens to leave insured drivers at risk and can lead to us all having to pay higher premiums.

Those caught using phones at the wheel, going through red lights, speeding, and not wearing seatbelts pose a risk of injuring themselves and others in crashes.

There is also a public interest in readers being able to see how such cases are dealt with by our courts, and the penalties some motorists get for these offences.
