RESIDENTS look set to pay an extra £100 parking permit surcharge for their second cars.
Brighton and Hove Greens announced they will back a Labour proposal to introduce a multiple permit surcharge for residents parking permits.
This would see people pay an extra £100 for a second vehicle and £200 for third and subsequent vehicles.

The increase in charges will raise about £226,000, which would be used to remove planned general increases in parking permits in controlled parking zones.
Green councillor Tom Druitt said: “The Green Group will be supporting Labour Amendment 1.
“While we don’t believe that freezing parking charges is in the long-term interests of the city, we do agree that moving the burden to households with more than one car is a progressive policy that protects those that rely on one vehicle while discouraging multiple car ownership.”
Conservative Joe Miller, who was against the proposal, said: “We have already heard how much parking charges and resident permits are going up across the city, as well as the £15 carried over from last year, up to £492.50 for a permit for a working family, or three nurses sharing a HMO.”
