Haven Holidays plans to welcome families back to its sites across England from April 12.

On this date, step two of the government's "roadmap" to lifting lockdown restrictions will come into effect, allowing indoor hospitality venues to reopen.

Haven Holidays has two sites in Sussex - the Combe Haven Holiday Park in St Leonards and the Haven Church Farm Holiday Park in Bognor.

A spokesman for the company said it was "delighted that the roadmap has considered self-contained accommodation to reopen".

But, he added, Haven Holidays appreciated that many families who had booked stays in March and early April would be left disappointed by the news that parks would not reopen until the middle of next month.

He said: "We will continue to follow the guidance laid out by the government, as we have throughout the pandemic, to ensure the health and wellbeing of the nation and the safety and security of our guests, owners and teams are our number one priority.

"We are conscious that this will have an impact on a large amount of British families, and we are currently contacting all guests affected by the closure and the options that will be available to them.

"We would like to thank our guests for their patience and continued understanding while we work through this as quickly as we can.

"We will continue to provide guests with information via our website and social media channels. We cannot yet provide exact clarity for our reopening dates in Wales and Scotland but will provide this to our guests as soon as we have confirmation from the respective governments."
