YOUNG men involved in an alleged fracas at a railway station have been released under investigation as a police probe continues.

Armed police swooped on Portslade railway station in January over the incident.

It was claimed a knifeman was seen during the incident.

The area was closed off while police searched for suspects involved in an “altercation” at 3.40pm on January 28.

It is understood youths ran off in separate directions.

Police later made four arrests in connection with the events.

At the time the force said: “It is believed the group is known to each other and there is not thought to be any threat to the wider public.”

Following the arrests of four people on suspicion of affray, a 20-year-old man, a 23-year-old man, and two youths aged 15 and 16 were questioned.

They have all been released under investigation while police continue the inquiry.
