Suze Rosser from 1BTN said this year’s event has the station’s largest International Women’s Day line-up yet, including 27 of the station’s female presenters.
She said: “I’m really pleased and excited that we are able to put on more than a full day of amazing shows that represent IWD.
“We have 27 shows airing on March 8 which is simply amazing.
"When we started the takeover in 2018, we had 12 shows which is still great, but to see it grow over the last few years makes me very proud to be a part of the day.
“There is a wealth of music from across all genres, it’s going to be a fantastic day.”
Suze said that this year’s International Women’s Day theme, #ChooseToChallenge, will be at the centre of the station’s programme.
She said: “We can all choose to seek out and celebrate women's achievements. Collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world.”
All the proceeds raised from the celebrations will go to Rise, a Brighton-based domestic violence and abuse charity.
