MEGHAN Markle has claimed that Kate Middleton made her cry over wedding flower girl dresses in her “bombshell” Oprah interview.

The Duchess of Sussex has spoken to Oprah Winfrey for a 90-minute special interview, which is currently airing in the US.

Meghan responded to claims that she “left Kate Middleton in tears” over her strict demands for Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid’s dress

“What about the story ‘You made Kate cry?’ asked Oprah.

"I heard about that one,” Meghan responded.

“That was a turning point. That was when everything changed”

An insider claimed at the time that the incident followed a “stressful” dress fitting just weeks before Meghan, 37, married Prince Harry.

When asked directly whether she had made Kate Middleton cry, she responded: “No. The reverse happened.

The Argus:

“She was upset about something. She owned it and bought me flowers.”

She added:  “Everyone in the institution knew it wasn't true.

“I am not sharing that piece about Kate to be in any way disparaging about her.

“I would hope that she would want that to be corrected.

"Kate apologised for making me cry. I have forgiven her.

"Kate is a 'good person'. I can see now what layers were at play there.

"They really seem to want a narrative of a hero and a villain."

Meghan said the first time she met the Queen at a lunch at Royal Lodge, Windsor, Harry asked her if she knew how to curtsey.

She said: “I remember Harry and I were in the car and he said: ‘My grandmother is going to be there so you are going to meet her.’

“I said: ‘Great’

“He said: ‘Do you know how to curtsey?’

“I didn’t think it’s what happened inside.

“I said: ‘It’s your grandmother.’

“He said: ‘It’s the Queen.’

“That was the first moment that the penny dropped.”

She said she and Harry then practiced curtseying before meeting the Queen.

She told Oprah: “We sat there and we just chatted. And it was lovely and easy.”

Oprah said she remembers sitting in the chapel on Harry and Meghan’s wedding day, adding that she watched the duchess “floating down the aisle”.

Oprah asked Meghan: “Were you even inside your body at that time?”

Meghan said: “I thought about this a lot because it was like having an out of body experience I was very present for.

“And that’s the only way I can describe it because the night before I slept through the night entirely, which in and of itself is a bit of a miracle.

“And then I woke up and started listening to that song Going To The Chapel, and just tried to make it fun and light and remind ourselves that this was our day – but I think we were both really aware, even in advance, that this wasn’t our day.

“This was the day that was planned for the world.”
