ARGUS Camera Club members rushed to capture unusual cloud formations over Sussex on Thursday night.
Some said the skies were the “most amazing” they had ever seen.
Camera club regular Fay Stebbings, who took the top image, said: “They’re mammatus clouds which moved in from the South West.
“I’ve never actually seen them before, only in photos, so I was just aghast.”
Fellow member Kieran Cleeves, who took pictures of the sky over West Worthing Railway Station, said it was as if the sky was on fire.
And Kasia Kedziora said: “This was on my way from work over the South Downs – the most amazing sky I have ever seen.”
Trev Packer took his picture in Brighton.
He said it was a "fleeting and incredible" moment.
