FIRE crews worked quickly to stop flames spreading to nearby houses after a blaze broke out in a shed.
The structure was destroyed during the fire in Sharpthorne, near East Grinstead, yesterday morning but no further properties were damaged.
Pictures from the scene show the remnants of the shed, with the wooden panels and beams left black and charred.
A West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to reports of a garden shed on fire at Top Road in Sharpthorne at 7.48am on Sunday, March 14.
“Joint Fire Control mobilised firefighters from Turners Hill and Haywards Heath to the scene along with an East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service crews from Crowborough and Forest Row.
“Upon arrival they found the shed well alight and got to work quickly to prevent the fire from spreading to the nearby property using two high pressure hose reels.

“Crews remained at the scene, turning over and damping down, and used a thermal imaging camera to ensure there were no further hotspots.
“Fortunately there were no casualties, and the fire is believed to have started accidentally. The last crew booked away from the incident at 9.43am.”
