ALMOST 200 new coronavirus cases were confirmed across Sussex over the weekend.
Public Health Figures show the total number of cases increased by 190 county-wide, between Friday and this morning.
There were 42 new cases recorded in Brighton and Hove, as of 9am today.
In total, 14,175 people have tested positive for the virus in the city since the pandemic hit.
The highest number of new cases was confirmed in West Sussex, with 119 more people testing positive over the period.
It means there has been a total of 40,878 cases in the county.
In East Sussex, 29 new cases were confirmed. It means 30,141 people have now tested positive for Covid-19 in the county.
The 190 new cases in Sussex were among the 1,298 cases recorded across the South East over the weekend, where there has now been a total of 526,760.
Across the UK, the number of daily recorded cases rose by 5,089, bringing the total number of recorded cases to 4,263,527, since the pandemic began.
No Covid-19 deaths were recorded in Sussex, but there can be a reporting lag over the weekend.
Across the UK, 64 people were confirmed to have died within 28 days of a positive test, according to the latest figures released this afternoon.
It brings the total number of fatalities to 125,580.
