THIS is the moment Argus journalists confronted a man over a “sex for rent” advert aimed at vulnerable women.

The Covid denier - who gave his name as Gary - believed he was meeting a 19-year-old girl at Worthing Train station.

Instead, he was met by journalists who questioned whether he thought his advert offering free rent to women, who may have lost their jobs in the “scamdemic”, in exchange for sex was morally right.

Peter Kyle, MP for Hove and Portslade, said the online advertisers hosting the “sex for rent” adverts are “utter low-life” who are “peddling misery”.

Here is the full transcript:

Sorry, Gary my name’s Connor Stringer and I’m a reporter with The Argus. I’ve posed as Kathryn Haistings for the last two weeks

Yeah

And I’m here to ask you a few questions about sex for rent. Keep your distance, please

No, no, come on, let’s talk

No, no, keep your distance, there’s no need to be confrontational. I’m only asking a few questions

You’ve just lied to me but you think I should just take it?

No, I’m asking you a few questions about sex for rent and whether you think it’s morally right

Let’s go over here

No, actually, we’re in public.

[Gary attempts to snatch the phone filming]

There’s no need to grab the phone, we’re asking you a few questions

Would you prefer it if I grabbed you?

Absolutely not, I think that’s against the law

Okay, come over here and talk

No, no come this way, all we are doing is asking you a few questions. Do you think it’s morally right to ask for sex in return for free rent?

Do you think it’s morally right that a government takes away our freedoms over a scam?

What’s that got anything to do with charging a 19-year-old girl no rent in return for sex on a regular basis?

Does it say that you’re forced, or did I say at any point that we want you to want this, we don’t want to force anybody? Tell me that

Tell me this

No, no tell me that

Have you done this before with people, have you?

Have I done it before?

Yeah, with people

No

No? This is your first time?

Yeah, hence why I made sure everybody knew that the point is, you have to want it

Keep your distance

You have to want this. Watch your back

What would you say to someone’s mother if that was someone’s daughter or someone’s sister? Someone like that? And they’re vulnerable

I will say that if she’s over 18, that would be her legal choice and her legal right, would it not?

Keep your distance

Would it not?

You want to assault a reporter? Keep your distance, please

Do I care? At the moment, you are the enemy of freedom

For what? The media?

Do you agree with the lockdown?

Let’s ask you some more questions here

Do you agree with the lockdown?

Do you think it’s morally right, do you think it’s fair to take advantage of vulnerable people, a 19-year-old girl and others

A 19-year-old girl who, what, did I force her?

In return for sex

Did I force her?

Do you think that’s morally right?

Did I force her? Watch your back again

Do you think it’s legal?

Do you think you are doing anything good?

Do you think there’s a problem with that? Can you see the problem with it?

No

Why not?

So in your eyes

Distance, please

You think that what, a prostitute is also doing a bad thing because she’s selling?

No, what I’m asking you is, if a 19-year-old girl comes to you and is in a vulnerable position

Is she doing it for free, or is she getting something out of it?

Do you think it’s morally right?

So therefore, what does it count as? It counts as a contract. Correct?

Keep your distance. Do you know it’s illegal to solicit prostitution in return for

Have I said anything about prostitution?

Keep your distance

[Passerby intervenes]

He’s talking about sex for rent alright

[Passerby] It’s wrong, it’s wrong in any manner
