A Brewery has released its first range of canned beers.

Fans of Hepworth’s The Charger IPA (5.5 per cent abv) and Crazy Horse APA (five per cent abv) will now be able to buy them in 330ml cans.

They are an addition to the company’s bottled and draught ales.

The beers, brewed in West Sussex, will be Hepworth’s first range to be available nationwide.

Hepworth, based in Pulborough, says Charger is “a powerful IPA with impeccable integrity. It is a rich, resonant pale ale with four British hops intertwined to deliver a dense and satisfying nose. The subtle interplay of aromas is perfectly balanced on the palate”.

Crazy Horse is an American style Pale Ale, brewed with American Chinook and Cascade hops for a hoppy, citrus flavour.

Head brewer and managing director Andy Hepworth said: “We chose to can our two most popular craft beers as demand has increased for home delivery during the pandemic and packaging our product in this way makes it much easier to distribute nationwide.

“There is also a need for more highly hopped beers such as IPAs and APAs to be canned as well.

“As we have launched a couple of beers in these categories in recent years, we feel it is a natural progression to put them in cans to reach a wider audience.”

The beers are currently being canned offsite but Hepworth plans to build its own canning facility at the brewery.

The company, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, has a range of 14 beers and lagers.

Many of these beers are gluten free and suitable for vegans thanks to the brewing process removes gluten naturally.

Its products are stocked in national retailers such as Marks & Spencer, the Co-op, Tesco, Waitrose and Morrisons.

Hepworth is leading the way when it comes to sustainability in brewing –it is the proud pioneer of a beer-sourced heat pump which is powered by its own solar panels.

It is also looking to diversify into low-alcohol beers and flavoured beers this year.

The new canned beers are available direct from www.hepworthbrewery.co.uk, Hepworth’s Brewery Shop and Amazon.
