PELLS Pool in Lewes has announced plans to reopen their freshwater pool to the public from May.
Providing bad weather does not prevent volunteers from preparing the 160-year-old pool to be ready for action, the planned date to reopen is May 8.
Rob Read, a member of the Pells Pool Community Association, the group who run the pool said: “We’re a seasonal pool so go from early May to late October.
“What we do around this time of year is all the preparation, cleaning everything up, putting all the flagstones down, sorting showers and all that stuff to be ready for early May.”

Pells Pool announced they have frozen prices for the 2021 season, ranging from £2.50 for a child’s ticket, up to £5 for a two-hour adult ticket.
Bookings can be made online and in-person when the pool opens.
Pells Pool website state that they will be following all government guidelines as restrictions are slowly lifted: “We will also necessarily operate within the guidelines set by the national swimming and lifesaving bodies, and the rules set by the Government as lockdown restrictions are progressively lifted."
