I AM DISGUSTED that the council is not going to start work on the classic Madeira Arches until the autumn.

They have had our money for over two years.

It would have been better if they started the work now. The weather is much better for working outside, especially for rust.

I do not normally criticise councils, but they have clearly failed to look after this Brighton gem.

Had they inspected the arches every six months or so they would have seen any problems and dealt with them.

I feel that we nearly had "another West Pier" and even now the council are dragging their feet.
