A TEENAGER has been charged on suspicion of robbery after a man reported being attacked for his electric scooter.

Police were called over the incident in Edburton Avenue in Brighton at 10pm on March 21.

The victim was approached by men in a car in Grantham Road, the suspects demanded he hand over the scooter, but the man refused.

He ran to nearby Edburton Avenue, but he was chased and punched in the head while the robbers took the scooter and fled.

Now police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

It was revealed that 18-year-old Cameron Boxall, unemployed, of no fixed address, was arrested.

He has been charged with robbery and possession of a knife or sharply pointed article in public.

Boxall was also charged with handling stolen goods in relation to a separate matter.

He appeared before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (March 24) and was remanded in custody to appear at crown court on April 21.
