THESE pictures show hundreds of people enjoying the sun on Easter Sunday.

People from across Sussex made the most of the bank holiday by enjoying the good weather over the weekend.

Pictures taken on Worthing beach show crowds of people walking along the seafront, almost a week after coronavirus restrictions were loosened.

Many took the opportunity to exercise while others basked in the sun's rays on the beach.

Under the current rules, people are now allowed to mix in groups of six, or two households, in any outdoor space.

Boris Johnson has said Britain can look forward to “brighter days ahead” as the country celebrates Easter.

In his Easter message, the Prime Minister acknowledged it had been a “very tough” year, but said the holiday brought fresh optimism.

“This has been a very tough 12 months. But, as ever, the arrival of Easter brings with it new hope,” he said.

“And, this year more than ever, it brings the promise of brighter days ahead for us all.”

Other pictures taken in Littlehampton show people taking advantage of the rule changes with people meeting in small groups to enjoy the good weather.
