A man was verbally assaulted near Hove Lawns.
The victim was also allegedly punched during the attack in Holland Road, near the junction with Kingsway, at about 11am on Tuesday, March 30.
Sussex Police are now appealing for witnesses to the assault to come forward as officers make enquiries into the incident.
Anyone who saw what happened is being urged to report any information they have online or call 101, quoting serial 410 of 30/03.
