DO you know someone who has made a difference to your community during the pandemic?

A unique photography exhibition will celebrate lockdown heroes with portraits filling the windows of the Pavilion Theatre in Worthing.

Worthing Theatres and Museum is asking the public from across Sussex to submit photographs of the people who have impacted their lives during Covid-19, along with a short description of why the person matters to them or made a difference to the community.

Selected submissions will be included in the We Are Worthing exhibition at the Pavilion Theatre and as part of an online digital catalogue from late May.

Chief executive Amanda O’Reilly said: "The last year has been full of unprecedented challenges and we have learnt that sometimes the smallest things can make the biggest difference.

"We are excited that the We Are Worthing project offers a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate the people who matter to them, whether they are friends, family, neighbours or colleagues.

"We want to hear your stories."

Nominations could include someone who cheered you up on a weekly Zoom call, a neighbour who dropped off your shopping or a dedicated volunteer who helped to care for the community during lockdown.

Head of curation and engagement Gerry Connolly said: "It is wonderful to be able to involve the community in this outdoor exhibition at the iconic Pavilion Theatre in the heart of Worthing.

"We are excited to be able to capture moments and memories from an extraordinary last year and celebrate the amazing people that make up our community and their stories from lockdown."

The deadline for submissions is Friday, April 30.

Photographs should be high quality with the person front-facing, like on a passport, and accompanied by a short explanation of 30 to 50 words on why they should be a nominee.
