POLICE have been forced to warn hungry drivers that queuing for McDonald's on the A27 is not acceptable.

PC Tom Van Der Wee from the Sussex Roads Policing Unit has told people to “use some common sense” after queues for the Chichester Drive-Thru formed on the A27.

He said: “Hungry people of Chichester.

“If the Mc Donalds drive through is full, please don’t form a queue on the A27 as it’s dangerous and blocks the roundabout.

“Utilise some common sense, come back later or go and get food from elsewhere.
"There are plenty of other options.”

McDonald's in Portsfield Way can be found at the roundabout connecting the Chichester Bypass and the A27.

Twitter users have branded those queuing on the busy round as “brain-dead”.

“Just give them tickets. Idiocy and dangerous,” said another.

Earlier this year, The Argus reported how an “angry" woman called the police because she missed out on getting a McDonald's breakfast because of a long queue

Inspector Darren Taylor at Sussex Police said the force received a phone from an unhappy customer in East Grinstead, who had been waiting to get a McDonald's breakfast at the Drive-Thru restaurant in London Road.

But unfortunately, by the time she arrived at the Drive-Thru window to place an order, the breakfast service was no longer available.
