THE pubs are open, and people are desperate to get their bookings sorted so they can enjoy a drink this weekend.
Booking tables at pubs has proved to be an issue for many hopeful punters due to the high level of demand. Most pubs are fully booked and only have a finite supply of spaces available to walk-in guests.
For those who are going into the weekend without a guaranteed place to go for a drink with friends Wetherspoons could offer the solution.
Wetherspoons will not be using a booking system and will be operating entirely on a walk-in basis. A statement on their website said: “All pubs will operate on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Table-bookings are not possible.”
None of Wetherspoons venues will be taking bookings, leaving an opportunity for those to still be able to socialise with friends.
As many other pubs are booked up, queues are expected to be long so guests will have to be early if they want to secure a table.
