FIRE crews have blocked off a busy shopping street as they deal with an ongoing incident.
Pictures taken from Portland Road show East Sussex Fire and Rescue crews attending an incident in the area.
Two fire trucks have blocked the road and motorists can be seen turning around to find an alternative route.
South East Coast Ambulance Service are also on the scene.
A spokesman from Sussex Police said: "Emergency services have been attending a medical incident at an address in Portland Road, Hove, on Friday afternoon, April 16.
"No further information is available at present."
Some bus services have also been cancelled early as a result of the incident.
Writing on Twitter, a spokesman for Brighton and Hove Buses said: "Due to traffic congestion and earlier disruption on Portland Road our BH49 services are subject to delays and early termination.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
