MOTORISTS have appeared in court for a variety of offences committed on our roads.

Here is a selection of some of the drivers who have been named in the magistrates’ courts.

ETHAN BAKER

Aged 19, of Blakes Way, Eastbourne, admitted riding a Sinnis Apache motorbike without due care and attention and without valid insurance. Fined £500. Eight points on his licence.

TOBY MCKEAN

Aged 23, of Gainsborough Drive, Selsey, admitted failing to provide a breath test when suspected of drink-driving, and assaulting two PCs in Chichester. To do 240 hours of unpaid work, 20 rehabilitation sessions, surcharge £95, costs £85, compensation £200. One-year ban.

KEVIN BROWN

Aged 38, of Annandale Avenue, Bognor. Admitted driving a Citroen Berlingo while banned on the A27 at Fontwell, and driving without due care and attention. Jailed for 18 weeks, surcharge £128. Three-year ban.

ADEL ABDEL-HALIM

Aged 62, of Roundway, Haywards Heath, admitted speeding in a Volkswagen on the M23 at Tilgate Forest. Fined £192, surcharge £34, costs £90. Six-month ban.

JAMES STEEN

Aged 24, of Valley Road, Peacehaven, admitted riding a KTM motorbike without due care and attention. Fined £369, surcharge £37, costs £90. 42-day ban.

PETER CLARKE

Aged 57, of Tamarisk Walk, East Wittering, admitted speeding in a Volkswagen in Stocks Lane. Fined £292, £34 surcharge, £90 costs. Six-month ban.

JONATHAN GILL

Aged 55, of Hare Lane, Crawley, admitted driving a Citroen van at the Tushmore roundabout while using a handheld mobile phone. Fined £125, surcharge £34, costs £90. Six points added, but no totting ban due to mitigating circumstances.

JOE SUMMERFIELD

Aged 24, of Reeves Hill, Brighton, admitted four times speeding in a Volkswagen on the A259 Marine Parade, Brighton. Fined £160, surcharge £34, costs £110. Six-month ban.

NORBERT BUDAI

Aged 33, of Harbour Way, Shoreham, found guilty of speeding on a Sinnis motorbike in Shoreham and failing to identify the driver of a vehicle suspected of a road traffic offence in Shoreham to the police. Fined £240, surcharge £32, costs £500. Six-month ban.

ALEX WORNHAM

Aged 33, of West Meon, Petersfield, Hampshire, admitted driving in a Mercedes on the A23 at Warninglid without due care and attention. Fined £660, surcharge £90, costs £110. Nine points added to his licence.

KONSTANTIN TULGOVETS

Aged 29, of Gloucester Road, Littlehampton, admitted driving a Fiat Panda otherwise than in accordance with a licence, driving without valid insurance, failing to provide a breath test when suspected of drink or drug-driving, and possession of an offensive weapon, namely a baton. Given an eight-week suspended prison sentence, 80 hours of unpaid work, 30 rehabilitation sessions, surcharge £122. One-year ban.

BENJAMIN TAYLOR-BAKER

Aged 25, of St Francis Close, Haywards Heath, admitted riding a Yamaha motorbike otherwise than in accordance with a licence, without valid insurance, and riding on a footpath. Fined £270, surcharge £34, costs £300. Six-month ban.

COLIN PUTTICK

Aged 34, of Muddles Green, Chiddingly, admitted speeding in an Audi on the A27 at Falmer. Fined £415, surcharge £42, costs £90. 42-day ban.

STEPHEN BLACKWELL

Age 64, of Brighton Road, Lancing, admitted speeding in an Audi on the M25 and speeding on the M27 in a Volkswagen. Fined £450, surcharge £45, costs £110. 42-day ban.
