TWO baby rabbits are on the road to recovery after being orphaned.

A farmer found them in a hay bale. They were without their mother who is presumed to have died.

The baby rabbits (kittens) were handed over to RSPCA Mallydams Wood Wildlife Centre in Hastings.

They were initially unable to fend for themselves because they were so young, which meant the staff had to hand-feed them three times a day until they had grown bigger.

The rabbits made a full recovery and can now return to the wild to live in their natural habitat.

The RSPCA is preparing for its busiest time of the year as it experiences the peak of animals admitted for help in May, June and July. In 2020, more than 13,000 animals were admitted for help to the RSPCA’s four wildlife centres.
