IT IS National Tea Day - have you had a cuppa yet?

Us Brits are known for our love of a good old fashioned cup of tea so what better way to enjoy today than stopping off at your local cafe for a brew.

In celebration of National Tea Day we've taken a look at some of Brighton's best rated cafes and tea rooms that you can enjoy.

The Grand Brighton

If you really want to spoil yourself and come on, you deserve it, then pop down to The Grand and sample their famous afternoon tea. 

The high tea is served in the decadent Victoria Terrace and Lounge as well as being available for delivery.

Afternoon tea includes: freshly made sandwiches, pastries, scones and cakes, as well as some 'surprising treats' bespoke to The Grand's famous tea. Served with a selection of over 30 teas to try.

The Coffeetzar

This artisan cafe with a Mediterranean feel is the ideal place to meet up with friends after months apart for a delightful cup of tea, delicious cake or light meal. 

Famous locally, one rave reviewer said: "Great coffee. Great cakes. Solid selection of plant milks and there are some excellent gluten free and vegan cake options."

Another review said: "Always a warm welcome, very good coffee indeed, they even had honey as an option on the side. A tasty sandwich which was toasted was an added bonus."

The Laughing Dog

The Laughing Dog is a family run, independent café and shop selling beautiful gifts and wellness products. 

Outside there are a limited number of tables that are the ideal spot to bask in the midday sun while reading a book or having a natter. 

They serve a range of freshly baked goods including cakes and pastries as well as toasties and salad bowls to name a few.

Joe's Cafe

With more than 300 Google reviews, Joe's Cafe is one of the most-loved in the city with people raving about its friendly atmosphere and delicious food.

They also have an outside seating space so whether you want to grab a quick take-away cuppa or a yummy breakfast there's something for everyone.

One review said: "Good value for money and lovely staff ! The food is good, and there is plenty of vegan and vegetarian options."

Another reviewer said: "Absolutely wonderful atmosphere, staff and super tasty food and drinks."

Cafe Sixteen

The sunny patio at Cafe Sixteen is a cool and quirky spot to enjoy some of the best coffee and tea in town. 

"The loveliest café in Brighton. Such kind and friendly owners, excellent food for a good price," said one review.

They are also the only rooftop bar in Bradford, seating around 25 people at a time.

Freshly baked cakes and light meals are available with options for all dietary requirements.
