POLICE investigating a stabbing in Eastbourne town centre are looking for a driver who was "flagged down" after the assault.

Officers attended Terminus Road just after 8.30pm on Saturday, April 10, after a 17-year-old boy suffered serious wounds to the stomach.

He was taken to hospital for treatment but has since been discharged.

Police believe a vehicle was flagged down by two men in Gildredge Road shortly after the assault, around 8.45pm.

Officers now want to speak to the driver of the vehicle as part of their investigation.

A spokesman from Sussex Police said: "Anyone who has any information is asked to contact police online or by calling 101 quoting Operation Parkham.

"Alternatively, information can be passed to police anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

"Two men have been charged with wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

"They are next due to appear in court on May 14."
