A COLLEGE has issued a statement following an incident where “shots were fired”.
Sussex Police have confirmed that two people were hurt following reports of “gunshots” outside Crawley College this afternoon.
A man has been detained and police are urging people to stay away from the area.
We are aware of an incident at Crawley College this afternoon. Sussex Police are present on the scene and a man has been detained. We are awaiting further information from the Police. We are not aware of any serious injuries. Our priority remains the safety of students & staff.

In a statement from Crawley College on Twitter, a spokesman confirmed it was aware of an incident and said that police were on the scene. He said: “We are aware of an incident at Crawley College this afternoon.
“Sussex Police are present on the scene and a man has been detained.
“We are awaiting further information from the Police.
“We are not aware of any serious injuries.
“Our priority remains the safety of students and staff.”
Police have confirmed that their search “remains ongoing.”
