THE first May bank holiday is upon us and people getting ready for a long weekend.
We have all enjoying mostly warm weather in Brighton and Hove since lockdown restrictions were eased this month.
However, this bank holiday weekend looks set to be a colder affair with the mercury not predicted to rise above 11c.

According to the Met Office, there are chances of light showers on Saturday and Monday afternoon.
The Met Office’s current predictions are:
Friday
Cloudy changing to sunny intervals in the afternoon. Highs of 10c and lows of 3c.
Saturday
Sunny changing to light showers by lunchtime. Highs of 11c and lows of 3c.
Sunday
Sunny changing for cloudy by lunchtime. Highs of 11c and lows of 7c.
Monday
Cloudy changing to light rain in the afternoon. Highs of 11c and lows of 8c.
A spokesman for the Met Office said: “Friday: Most places dry at first with bright or sunny spells after a chilly start. Scattered showers will develop into the afternoon. Still feeling cool, although generally light winds. Maximum temperature 13 °C.
“Outlook for Saturday to Monday: Saturday, chilly start, sunny spells and scattered afternoon showers. Sunday, sunny spells and scattered showers. Cool with early rural frost possible. Monday, rain and strong winds spreading from the west.”
