A DRUG dealer was spotted on the A27 and was found with cocaine.
Daniel Shaw was stopped at Firle by officers who believed he was linked in drug deals.
In his car they found a bag of cocaine weighing 122 grams, 11 wraps of cocaine, a knuckle duster, a hammer, and two mobile phones.
A search at his flat found £500 in cash inside a coat pocket, cannabis resin and a further 26 grams of cocaine.
The estimated street value of the class A drugs was £15,000.
Shaw, 39, was asked if he knew what “PWI” meant, a short form for possession with intent.
He replied: “I’m in trouble.”
Lewes Crown Court heard how he was stopped on February after he was seen on the A27.
Shaw was charged with possession with intent to supply a class A drug, possession of a class B drug and possession of an offensive weapon.
At first he denied the charges and was due to stand trial, but he later entered a guilty plea.
On Tuesday 20 April at Lewes Crown Court, Shaw, of Pembury Road, Eastbourne, was sentenced to a three year and four months prison spell.
Investigating Officer Sam Legate said: “We welcome the sentence issued by the courts in relation to this matter.
“We are committed to tackling issues with drugs, which can have a detrimental impact on our local communities.
“We hope this sends out a clear message to those dealing drugs within Sussex that we take this behaviour seriously and will continue to do all we can to remove it from our streets.”
