A DRUG dealer was found with thousands of pounds worth of cash after running off from police.

Harry Berry-Hill was selling cocaine, MDMA ecstasy and cannabis in Seaford.

The unemployed 20-year-old was stopped and had £6,000 in a rucksack along with scales and a hunting knife.

At Lewes Crown Court he admitted being concerned in the supply of class A drugs (cocaine and MDMA), being concerned in the supply of a class B drug (cannabis), possessing cannabis with intent to supply, acquiring, using, or possessing criminal property, and possession of a bladed article in public.

Berry-Hill was jailed for four years over six charges.

Police say his arrest and prison sentence will disrupt the flow of drugs into Seaford.

It was revealed that Berry-Hill was stopped on the A259 Denton Roundabout in October 2019.

Officers saw him fleeing from the back seat of a car which had failed to stop.

Last month he appeared in court over the offences.

Sergeant Darren Johnson said: “Harry Berry-Hill’s detention will have a significant impact on disrupting the supply of drugs into the community of Seaford.

“We recognise the harm that comes with the supply of drugs into an area, and we are committed to dealing with those responsible for such criminality.

“We hope this sentence sends out a clear message that drug dealing will not be tolerated in Sussex, and we will do all we can to remove harmful drugs from our streets.

Berry-Hill, 20, of Norton Terrace, Newhaven, is now behind bars.
