A TEN-YEAR-OLD who sparked a police manhunt after going missing has been found.

Yasmin Tas was last seen leaving her house in Hassocks on 8.45am yesterday morning.

Her disappearance sparked a force-wide manhunt, with officers descending on the area in an attempt to find her.

Pictures taken from the town show officers searching for the missing girl.

However, after an urgent appeal to the public, Yasmin was found by officers "safe and well".

A spokesman from the force said on Twitter: "We are absolutely delighted to announce that missing Yasmin Tas fromHassocks has been found safe by our officers this evening.

"We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who kept an eye out for her or RT'd our post today."

The appeal launched by Sussex police urgent members of the public to call 999 imminently if they saw the ten-year-old.

At the time, it read: "We urgently need your help.

"Anyone who sees her should dial 999 immediately, quoting serial 298 of 19/05."
