THE police helicopter has been seen circling in the skies over the city after a victim was slashed during a suspected assault.
The chopper was scrambled after reports of an assault involving a knife in Chatham Place, Brighton.
A manhunt was launched following the incident earlier today.
Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to come forward.
Officers said the incident, at 8.25, is being treated as isolated.
The victim's wounds are not said to be serious.
There is not thought to be any threat to the wider community at this time.
A spokesman from Sussex Police said: "Anyone who witnessed what happened or who has relevant dash-cam, doorbell or mobile phone footage is urged to report online or call 101, quoting 248 of 21/05."
