PEOPLE finally have the opportunity to go for a Sunday roast at a pub for the first time this year.

Brighton and Hove has plenty of options for people to chose from no matter what their favourite kind of roast is, whether it be meat or veggie or even vegan.

Argus readers have been letting us know what their favourite pub is for a Sunday roast. Many different options were suggested from The Lion and Lobster in Sillwood Street, Brighton to The Plough in London Road, Pyecombe.

Laura Johnson thinks that the best place for a roast is at The Hartington in Whippingham Road, Hanover, because of the good food and the vibe in the garden.

She said: "The Hartington in Hanover. Lovely food and atmosphere. Amazing garden too with heated booths."

However, not everyone agreed.

Lorraine Ali said: "The Victory Inn is the best around."

Another said: "The Caxton Arms best in business."

Jordan Bain said: "The Lion and Lobster always."

Sharon Gaffney believes that the best roast is at the Marine Tavern in Broad Street in Kemptown because of the quality of food and its reasonable cost.

She said: "Marine Tavern definitely, lovely roast, great price."

People are expected to be filling pubs this Sunday due to the fact customers are allowed back inside after Covid-19 restrictions were loosened. Good news considering the current windy weather.

However, plenty of places are being booked up quickly. Hove Place in First Avenue, Hove and The Roundhill, a highly-rated vegan pub in Ditchling Road, Brighton, are already fully booked until June.

The good news is there is still plenty of space at The Cricketers in Black Lion Street, Brighton as well as the Lion and Lobster for those who want to get themselves a roast this Sunday.

You can still try your luck at The Better Half in Hove Place, The Victory Inn in Duke Street and the Black Lion in Black Lion Street, which are still taking bookings.
