A PEDESTRIAN was seriously injured after being struck by the driver of a car.

The pensioner was walking in Richmond Avenue, Bognor at 7.15am on Thursday (May 20).

He was hit by a silver Toyota Avensis estate vehicle.

Police say the 75-year-old from Bognor had to be taken to hospital with serious injuries, while the driver was unhurt.

Now officers are appealing for anyone who saw what happened, or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.

Sussex Police said: “We are seeking witnesses to a collision in Bognor in which a pedestrian was seriously injured.

“The 75-year-old local man and a silver Toyota Avensis estate collided in Richmond Avenue, Bognor, at 7.15am on Thursday 20 May.

“The pedestrian is in hospital with very serious injuries. The car driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was unhurt.”

The circumstances of the crash are being investigated.
