A MAN arrested after a railway station bomb hoax has admitted carrying a knife.

Corey Moss was arrested during the incident at Brighton railway station earlier this month.

Police were scrambled to a report of a man claiming to have an explosive device and making threats.

The station was temporarily closed while police carried out a search of the area on Sunday May 16.

No bomb was found but Sussex Police recovered two knives.

The 27-year-old, of no fixed address, was taken in for questioning.

He was charged with two counts of possession of a bladed article in a public place, and pleaded guilty to both.

At the time, police said it had been an "isolated incident" with no threat to the public.

A spokesman said: "The station was temporarily closed to the public and a cordon was set up as a safety precaution while armed police carried out an extensive area search.

"No explosive device was found but two knives were recovered."

Moss appeared at Brighton Magistrates Court on Monday May 17.

He was remanded in custody ahead of sentencing at Lewis Crown Court next month.
